At Face For Business, every call we answer involves a real conversation with a real person – and that means we handle personal data every day. We take that responsibility seriously. This page sets out, how we protect the personal information we hold for our clients and their callers, your rights under the UK GDPR, and where to read our full policy.
Our policy is reviewed every twelve months and was most recently updated in February 2026.
We collect and process personal data for a defined set of purposes: to deliver our call answering and live chat services, to manage employment and payroll, to run targeted marketing, and to fulfil our contractual obligations to clients. Personal data is held only where it is necessary for those purposes and only for as long as it is needed.
Most of the personal data we handle on behalf of clients comes from inbound calls and messages: caller name, contact details, the reason for the call, and any information the caller provides for the message we take. We treat this data as belonging to our clients and process it under the instructions set out in their service agreement.
Under the UK GDPR, anyone whose personal data we hold has the following rights:
The right to be informed about how their data is collected and used
The right of access to a copy of their personal data
The right to have inaccurate data rectified
The right to erasure – the “right to be forgotten” – in certain circumstances
The right to restrict how we process their data
The right to data portability
The right to object to processing, including direct marketing
Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer using the details below. We will respond within one calendar month.
We protect personal data with a combination of technical and organisational measures, including:
We don’t hold personal data for any longer than we need to. The exact period depends on the type of data and what we use it for. As a guide:
We review every category of personal data every six months to make sure we still have a lawful and necessary reason to hold it.
Our appointed Data Protection Officer is Robert Heaton. If you have a question about how we handle your personal data, want to exercise one of your rights, or believe we’ve made a mistake, please contact:
