It’s more important than ever to take care of your mental health at work. With Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May 2025) recently recognised, companies nationwide are thinking about how they can better support their employees. Mental health and the wellness of our employees are at the centre of everything we do at Face For Business, not just during the week in May, but all year long.
Here, we talk about how we promote good mental health and happiness in the office by giving our dedicated team a helpful and fun place to work.

Why Mental Health Matters at Face For Business
Employee wellbeing isn’t just beneficial, it’s essential. A happier, healthier team is more productive, engaged, and better equipped to provide exceptional service. Face For Business recognises that our greatest asset is our people, and investing in their wellbeing positively impacts every aspect of our business.
From monthly morale events to ongoing mental health initiatives, we are always looking for new ways to show our team that their mental wellness is a priority.
Monthly Morale Events: Making Mindfulness Fun
Making time for mindfulness, fun, and rest in a busy office, while the team is on calls, isn’t always easy, but it’s important. Every month, we host themed weeks and in-house events that are meant to boost mood, get people involved and give them a chance to be mindful.
Positivi-tea Week
In January, we kicked off the year with our popular Positivi-tea Week, serving up an assortment of uplifting teas and treats, promoting positivity, conversation, and connection amongst our teams.

August Breeze – Taster Sessions
Come August, we encourage our PAs to recharge with our August Breeze Taster Sessions. Team members can sample refreshing Kombucha drinks and healthy snacks, emphasising the importance of nutrition in maintaining positive mental health. These simple, enjoyable activities help create a healthier and happier working environment.

Mindfulness and Fun Throughout the Year
We regularly do quizzes, colouring competitions, and light-hearted activities. These are specifically designed to fit around quieter periods or between calls, allowing staff to unwind, practice mindfulness and maintain high morale without disrupting their workflow.
Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week
Every May, during Mental Health Awareness Week, we take the opportunity to further emphasise the importance of positive mental health. Last year’s Mental Health Awareness Week featured a series of events designed to educate, support, and engage our staff in important conversations around mental wellness. Activities included interactive sessions, mindful breaks, and resources focused on wellbeing strategies that our PAs could easily implement both at work and home.
This year, from 12–18 May 2025, we brought mental health to the forefront again, reinforcing our commitment to supporting staff and ensuring mental wellbeing remains a constant priority.
Wellbeing through Workplace Massage
In the last year we have started holding regular massage sessions on-site because we know that physical relaxation is very good for your mental health. Our trained massage therapist, Barbara, gives each member of the team a 20-minute massage and we have 3 events already booked in this year.
Not only do these sessions help your body, but they also lower stress, improve focus, and boost mood. This small act has a big effect, it makes our team feel appreciated, calm and energised.

Mental Health First Aid Training: Promoting Early Intervention
More recently, Nikki and Andrea attended a certified Mental Health First Aid training workshop delivered by Alison Daniels from Iris Therapy Services. This invaluable training equips our team with skills to recognise early signs of mental health challenges, enabling us to effectively offer reassurance and appropriate signposting to professional support.

Alison Daniels from Iris Therapy Services summarised its value:
“Mental Health First Aid courses promote early intervention within the workplace, encourage openness about mental health, and create a culture of understanding and support. The training equips attendees with essential skills to recognise symptoms, provide initial support, and signpost to appropriate resources, fostering a more compassionate, supportive workplace environment.”
While our trained team members can’t diagnose or treat conditions that remain in the domain of healthcare professionals, they’re now better equipped to provide initial support, guidance, and crucial reassurance when colleagues need it most.
Creating a Positive Mental Health Culture
We don’t just see mental health and wellness activities as things to check off; they’re an important part of how we do business. By putting an emphasis on regular events, training, and ongoing support, we create a space where mental health is freely talked about, valued, and deeply respected.
By making mental health support a normal part of our work life, we always aim to make it a great place to work, where everyone can grow professionally and personally.
